ENGINEERING CLUB

New Chairman Elected Mr D. L. King, a senior instructor in the agricultural engineering department at Lincoln College, was elected chairman at the annual meeting of the Agricultural Engineering Club (Canterbury) this week. He succeeds Mr G. G. Lindsay, a senior lecturer in the agricultural engineering department at Lincoln. The club, which meets monthly, has a membership of from 50 to 55 including farmers, members of the staff of Lincoln College and representatives of farm machinery firms. Mr John Carpenter, of Malvern Motors, Darfield, was elected vice-chairman, Mr J M Spook, of Hutchinson Motors, secretary, and Messrs D. Worsfold (Greendale), D. Mulholland (Darfield) and G. Gray (Kaituna) were appointed to the committee. The speaker for the evening was Mr C. Mundy, of Mundy Brothers, Belfast, who spoke about mechanisation of market gardening in the United States and Canada The dub recently gave £lO towards the purchase of books at Lincoln College as a memorial to the late Mr A. W Riddolls, former head of the agricultural engineering department at Lincoln Colege.
