Rakaia Sisters Have Eight Grandparents
Two small girls in Rakaia, Linda and Debbie Leonard, aged two and six months, have eight grandparents living—in Southland, Otago, and Canterbury. Their mother, Mrs Shirley Leonard, has given information about this interesting family tree, as follows: “My daughter’s eight grandparents are: Grandmother, Mrs A. A. Taylor, of Rakaia, my mother; grandfather and grandmother, Mr and Mrs R. Leonard, of Tuatapere, my husband’s parents; great-grandmother, Mrs E. M. Fagan, of Oxford, my mother’s mother, who is now
83; great-grandmother, Mrs J. Taylor, of Rang i ora, my late father’s mother, who is now 83; great-grandfather, Mr J. F. Leonard, of Invercargill, my husband’s grandfather, who is now 82; and greatgrandfather and great-grand-mother, Mr and Mrs T. Condon, of Mosgiel, my husband’s mother’s parents, who are now 79 and 77.”
Detectives Robbed.—Two detectives reported suitcases stolen when they arrived in Rio for the annual International Police (Interpol), conference.—Rio de Janeiro, June 20.
