The Budget

Sir,—“Budget Crisis” must have gone to the same political school as Mr Nordmeyer. The people of this country have not been upset and disorganised by recent national Budgets. At least the rates of P.A.Y.E. have not been jumping up and down like a yo-yo, as happened previously. The fact that there is far more put away in small savings is one of the surest indications of good governing. It is also a fact that our imports are not able to keep up with the demand, which is conclusive that the people have the money to purchase the goods, both imported and locally manufactured. Let the socialists moan less and be constructive in the field of production.—Yours, etc., F.W.P.F. June 21, 1965.
