Obituary MR F. BELLRINGER
(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, June 21. Town Clerk at New Plymouth for 52 years until his retirement in 1953, Mr Felix Templeman Bellringer died yesterday. He was 88. He was born in New Plymouth and after leaving New Plymouth Boys’ High School joined the New Plymouth Borough Council clerical department.
During his period as Town Clerk, Mr Bellringer exerted a great influence on the development of New Plymouth especially in the aquiring of parks and reserves, the airport site, and the development of the city’s hydro-electric works at Lake Mangamahoe. He was awarded the M.B.E. in 1954.
Mr Bellringer is survived by a daughter.
