The Indonesian women badminton players lacked nothing in fitness, speed, stroke play or vocal support when they beat New Zealand, 7-0, at Auckland on Saturday. New Zealand's only chance of winning a match in this Australasian zone Über Cup tie came in the No. 2 singles, when Mrs Y. Gow led Miss Happy Herowati, 12-10, 5-1. The chance was lost, however, for Miss Herowati then regained the tactical initiative that Mrs Gow had taken from her and also regained her confidence by winning eight consecutive points. Results: Singles.-—Miss Minarni beat Mrs H. Robson, 11-5, 11-3; Miss Herowati beat Mrs Gow, 10-12, 11-8, 11-5; Miss C. Kawilarang beat Miss G. Tompkins, 114, 11-7. Doubles.—Misses Minarni and R. Kuatijah beat Mesdames Robson and Gow, 15-4, 15-3; Misses Kawilarang and Megah Idawati beat Miss Tompkins and Mrs M. Bush 15-6, 10-10; Misses Kawilarang and Idawati beat Mesdames Gow and Robson, 18-15, 15-6; Misses Minarni and Kuatijah beat Miss Tompkins and Mrs Bush. 15-3, 15-4. Church Parade. —More than 400 Roman Catholic scouts, guides, cubs, and brownies from Timaru, the West Coast, Ashburton, and Christchurch, will attend the annual church parade at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament to‘ morrow. They will attend a special Mass.
