METHODIST CHURCH

69th Anniversary At Linwood

The Linwood Methodist Church celebrated its sixtyninth anniversary yesterday. The present brick church was opened in 1932 but the neighbouring wooden hall was erected in 1896. At that time it measured 20 feet by 30 feet and it was supposed to seat 100 people. It was enlarged in 1901 and again enlarged at a later date. The church trustees plan to replace the hall but there are no definite plans as to the date or the design. Special church services were conducted to mark the occasion. The Rev. M. J. Campbell conducted the morning service and the minister of the Linwood Methodist Church (the Rev. H. K. Brown) conducted the evening service. The choir soloists were Mrs J. McWilliams and Mr H. Kean.

A family tea was held in the late afternoon and there were films in the evening.
