Funds For Delegates To Youth Conference

Youth groups throughout. New Zealand will be asked to' raise £llOO to enable young j people from Asia and the j Pacific to attend the fourth | ecumenical youth conference: which will open in Hamilton ! at the end of this year. This was announced by the chairman of the conference steering committee (the Rev. I W. Schrader) at the annuall meeting of the youth committee of the National Coun- ] cil of Churches in Christ-I church on Saturday. The conference will last from December 28 to January! 4. and 1500 delegates, with: leaders, will attend. It was hoped that at least; 80 people from Asia and I Pacific countries would at-1 tend. Mr Schrader said. The travel fund will be; used to assist 20 young people | : from Indonesia. Malaysia,. jCeylon, India. Pakistan. Hong, Kong, Formosa. Japan, Fiji,! ■Tonga, Samoa, the New Hebrides, Melanesia and the I Cook Islands. Definite registrations so far! have come from an Indian lecturer and three Formosians, and inquiries have!
