fN.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) WENTWORTH. June 4. The New Zealand golfer, R. R. Newdick, had a two-under-par 72 in the first round of the Daks £3250 tournament at Wentworth yesterday. He scored two halves of 36. Newdick was five strokes behind the leader, Harold Henning, of South Africa, who led Alex Caygill (England) by one stroke. On 69 were a Scot, George Low, and two recent tournament winners. Peter Butler and Jimmy Hitchcock, both of England. The favourite, Peter Thomson, of Australia, was up with the leaders, on 71, while the veteran South African, Bobby Locke, scored 73.
