GIFT TO UGANDA. —To mark the attainment of independence by Uganda, the New Zealand High Commissioner in London (Sir Thomas Macdonald) presents two book ends and two letter racks to the Ugandan High Commissioner (Mr T. Bazarrabusa) at New Zealand House. The book ends are made of totara and puriri woods and the letter racks of totara and kauri.
