DROUGHT IN N.S.W.
(N Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, May 24. Graziers in central and north-western parts of New South Wales have been forced to buy fodder from the Wheat Board to feed starving stock.
The two areas remain “dry” in the continuing drought. A leading Merriwa grazier, Mr A. J. B. Bettington, said last night dozens of district graziers had resorted to buying wheat from the Wheat Board.
“Natural feed just does not exist,” he said. The Wheat Board decided recently to release wheat for drought feed at 13s a bushel.
