Applications are invited for the following appointments: SENIOR LECTURER/LECTURER LECTURER Applicants should have had experience in some branch of inorganic chemistry, and have interests preferably in either chemical structure or some branch of spectroscopy (UV, IR. ESR, NMR) as applied to inorganic systems. Information about the Department, its staff and research interests may be obtained from Professor D. O. Jordan, the Head of the Department. SALARY SCALES: Senior Lecturer, £A3250—110—3800; Lecturer, £A2400—110—3170; with superannuation on the F.S.S.U. basis. In each case the initial salary will be fixed within the appropriate scale in accordance with qualifications and previous experience. THE University proposes making three appointments. Initial appointment will be for one year and there are prospects of renewal on an annual basis for a maximum period of three years. Applicants must hold an appropriate honours degree or have equivalent qualifications. The successful applicant will undertake research for a higher degree. Research will involve the carrying,out of programmes involving analysis of objective characteristics of wool consignments with a view to the application of modern programming techniques in wool buying and broking. Teaching duties include preparation, demonstration and teaching in wool technology with special reference to the measurement of important wool characteristics.
