Five Injured In Road Accidents Yesterday
Five persons, including two pedestrians, were injured in road accidents in and near Christchurch yesterday.
Ronald Stuart Miles, of Waikuku Beach, suffered head injuries when a car hit a pole at Waikuku last evening. He was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital where his condition was later reported as satisfactory. Trevor James Garlick, of 35 Bordesley street, suffered head injuries when his bicycle and a car collided at > the corner of Ferry and Olliviers roads about 6.30 p.m. He was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital where his condition was later reported to be satisfactory. Jillian Smith aged about seven, of 302 Blenheim road,
suffered back injuries and shock when hit by a car while walking at the corner of Riccarton and Clyde roads about 7 p.m. She was treated at the Christchurch Hospital and discharged.
Catherine Mansell, of 39 Blair avenue, suffered back injuries when a bicycle hit her while she was walking at the corner of Papanui road and Frank street. She was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital where her condition was later reported to be satisfactory. When two trucks collided at the corner of Halswell Junction and Shands roads about 8 a.m., John Cameron, of Ladbrooks, suffered head injuries.
