CANCELLED DONATION

Costly Capping Parade (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 7. A city organisation said today rt had cancelled a proposal to give £2OOO to the building of the Auckland University’s Student Centre, because it took exception to some of yesterday’s capping parade. This could mean that the parade cost students £4OOO. The Government had promised a £ for £ subsidy on the proposed building.

The cancellation of the donation comes after criticism of the parade by the Mayor of Auckland (Mr D. M. Robinson )who said the pornography in the exhibits had shown the immaturity of a small section of students.
