‘Gratifying’ Results (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) BRISBANE, May 7. British, Canadian, United States and Australian delegates at a top-level secret Army conference agreed to continue standardisation of equipment, the deputy chief of the Australian General Staff, Major-General S. G. Hassett. said today. The five-day conference was held at Canungra jungle training centre, about 60 miles south of Brisbane. Major-General Hassett said delegates to the tactics, equipment and logistics conference were “convinced the standardisation agreement between the four armies warranted continued support.” He said delegates considered the agreement provided the most effective mechanics for standardising equipment and procedure. Delegates agreed the results achieved were “most gratifying,” he said.
