Selwyn River
Sir, —Years ago Selwyn ratepayers gave up ideas of spending further big sums of money on schemes in the lower reaches of the river. At long last the Catchment Board itself abandons hope of putting through these expensive schemes. A great deal more attention is needed to planting trees and other soil conservation work in the watershed. Will the Selwyn people have to get two new representatives on the board to assure support for this necessary soil conservation work?—Yours, etc., PROGRESS.
