FIELD DAY

The annual field day of the Foothills branch of Federated Farmers, to which all are invited, will begin at the Staveley hall at 10 am. on Wednesday. This year the field day is being compered by Mr G. A. Holmes, superintendent of the Invermay research station at Taieri. The morning session will take the form of a visit to a property under Mount Somers which is coming out of gorse and requires drainage. Mole drains, grassed waterways, boulder drains and open drains will be seen. This would be an occasion for gumbooljs. In the afternoon there will be visits to the properties of Messrs S. Button and R. Mehrtens further downland and closer to Mount Hutt
