£14,000 FOR PROPERTY
Bryndwr House On Two Acres
“Inglewood,” a two-storey bungalow together with two acres one rood eight perches at 164 Wairakei road, Bryndwr was sold for £14,000 at public auction yesterday. The property was offered on account of Mr S. Howman by Ford and Hadfield, Ltd., acting in conjunction with Livingstone and Company and Mr N. K. Olsen. The auctioneer was Mr Denys Chaoman. The house has four bedrooms, lounge, dinette, kitchen, and bathroom. Outbuildings include a garage and a glasshouse. The initial bid was £9OOO. There was one bid of- £lOOO and eight of £5OO. Offered on account of the estate of Alex Hamilton, 50 acres of freehold land together with improvements at Springs road, Springston, was sold for £11,050. The sale was conducted by Pyne, Gould, Guinness Ltd. The auctioneer was Mr W. H. Archdall. The improvements include a three-bedroomed house, implement shed, dairy, and fowlhouse. The opening bid was £l5O an acre. There were four bids of £lO, five of £5, and six of £l.
