Landed For Fuel
Unexpectedly strong winds resulted in a Friendship on a flight from Auckland arriving at Christchurch 70 minutes late, at 11.39 a.m. yesterday. Strong south-westerly winds caused rapid fuel consumption and the pilot decided to land at Nelson to take on additional fuel as a precautionary measure.
