AUCKLAND, April 29. The 20-year-old Miss Jane Butler, winning an Auckland 54 - hole women’s golf tournament by a staggering 17 strokes today, reduced her handicap from two to scratch in the two days of the contest. After leading the field by nine strokes on Wednesday after the first two of the three rounds, Miss Butler today increased her lead to 17 strokes with a final round of 71, one under par.
