Gosset Street Trees
Sir, —As a resident of Gosset street for the whole of my life and knowing most other residents I am more than surprised to read of such petty arguments over the trees outside each home. Two residents have made efforts to have something done, and it is certainly not before time. However, why the arguments when all seem to want the same thing? Trees out and new, but smaller ones replaced. A check on records may show that original residents of Gosset street paid to the council the sum of IDs to have these trees in the first instance. Therefore, if anyone wishes to remove his particular tree, has he not the right to do so? Another point, the resident living on the corner should have the right to voice an opinion.
He does, in fact, have two trees outside his properties in Gosset street. How childish can we get?—Yours, etc., CORONATION STREET. April 28, 1965.
