Hamburg citizens the jitte's by setting off the city’s an raid sirens when a serious international situation develops Last Thursday, at the height of the Communist “war of nerves” against West Berlin, the sirens suddenly howled out an air raid warning across the city. Similar false alarms were set off during the building of the Berlin wail, the Cuba crisis and when President Kennedy was assassinated. Police at first thought the sirens were set off by a short circuit but the choice of occasions have led them to suspect that someone has found a way of tapping the system. They have launched a search.
