Factory Fully Insured
Mr K. H. Levy, accountant for General Plastics, said in Wellington much of the factory was erected only about two years ago.
He said the plant and its equipment was fully insured. The factory, said Mr’ Levy, manufactures buttons exclusively. They are made either from polyester or casein.
The plant is the only one owned by General Plastics, a New Zealand controlled firm. The company has its head office an ddispatch office at Petone.
General Plasties has one subsidiary. Plastalon (N.Z.), Ltd.
The Plastalon factory is next door to the wrecked Masterton plant. In the confusion of the ex-
plosion, first reports said the Plastalon plant was the one hit by the blast, but it was not damaged by the explosion or fire in the general plastics plant.
