SMELL OF STEW
Judge Refuses To Sit CNZ.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) CHELMSFORD (Southern England) April 12. A Judge threatened to go on strike here today when he smelt the lunch being preoared for prisoners in cells below the Court. A strong smell of stewprompted Mr Justice Roland Adams to say he would refuse to sit until the Court authorities could make other arrangements for preparing the food. “Can nothing be done to stop this terrible smell?” he asked. A barrister commented: “Onions are on the menu.” A prison officer had to close the door between the dock and the cells to shut out the smell before his Honour would continue with the case.
