Snell Still “Bit Shaky”
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 13. P. G. Snell, although “not expecting anything startling,” will run in the 880 yards and mile events at the Hastings Highland Games on Saturday and Monday respectively. “I’m trying to get going at the moment with long running,” said Snell today. “In other years Easter seems to have been a little later and closer to overseas departures, so that I’ve recorded good times. “This time I don’t expect anything startling." At the same time, said Snell, he was for the first time in months “starting to feel like running again” as he prepared for his proposed European tour. He said he had tackled the 22-mile Waitakere course three times in recent weeks, but twice completed it walking or in a car. “So you can see, I'm still a bit shaky,” he added.
