Moral Values
Sir,—! would like to endorse all that Varian J. Wilson has said. Too much selfindulgence gluttony, laziness, lawlessness, greed, and the rest—all bring their own rewards of suffering, sex indulgence perhaps more than the rest. It would seem almost impossible, for example, for promiscuous people to build a really happy home in later life; for a happy home can only be based on mutual trust. Very young girls are not physically or mentally fit to propagate the species. The physical and emotional strain of suffering entailed is often unexpected and almost unbearable. Lives are liable to be ruined before they are well begun. It would be good if an influential paper like “The Press” came out more clearly in favour of moral and decent living;—Yours, etc., WATCHMAN.
