NATIONAL CHAMPlON.—Canterbury’s only title winner at the New Zealand junior athletics championships, P. Walsh (Marist) who won the shot put championships with a distance of 50ft 9½in. The province has excellent prospects of retaining the title next year as Walsh, a product of St. Bede’s College, will be junior again for the full season.
