No Decision On More Mammoths
1 From Our Own Reporter/ WELLINGTON. April 12. The proposal put before the Cabinet by the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Seath) for an increased number of Mammoth Golden Kiwi lotteries was considered today, but no decision was made.
Mr Seath said tonight the proposal was “still under consideration.”
Other sources suggest a system similar to that of some overseas lotteries may be adopted for a trial period. Under this system, all applications for Mammoth Golden Kiwi tickets would be made by letter, enclosing payment Sand return postage, to a centra) office.
Tickets would be posted out. and in the case of the current lottery having been filled, a ticket in the next one would be issued automatically. One source considers that if
this were done, demand would be met by six Mammoth lotteries a year.
