Free Ride Wins French Race
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) PARIS. The American-owned colt, Michilimackinac, ridden by the Australian jockey, P. Glennon, was beaten by Baron Guy de Rothschild’s Free Ride, ridden by J. Duforge in the 250,000 francs Prix Ganay over 10 furlongs at Longchamp yesterday. Free Ride, the even-money favourite, held off a strong challenge by Glennon’s mount over the closing yards. The winning margin was three-quarters of a length. There was a photo finish to decide third, which went to Sigerbert, a short neck behind Michilimackinacs.
