SALE TO RUSSIA
British-Made Knitwear The Soviet Union has ordered wool fashion clothes worth £lBO,OOO from a London jersey knitwear manufacturer. Shannon, Kelting and Company. Mr Patrick Shannon, a codirector of the company, said his firm had been doing business with the Russian buying agency for about a year. This was the biggest order so far. “1 believe there is a great future in selling to the Soviet market and that this is only a beginning.” he said.
The designs ordered are all "typically British.” All the garments are 100 per cent wool. The Russians won’t have anything else,” Mr Shannon said.
