CARPET IN BAR
R.S.A. Defers Proposal
To spend £BOO on a bar carpet when building alterations to take place at Jellicoe Hall was “throwing moneydown the drain,” said a member, when the item appeared in a committee report to the executive of the Christchurch Returned Services’ Association last evening. Other members described the bar as third rate, and said that the carpet was a necessarv amenity
After a brisk debate, an amendment to defer the laying of the carpet for six months was carried by a narrow division.
