Transport Of Fish
Sir,—Thank. you for bringing my letter to the notice of Mr M. L. Newman. I am afraid he misses my point slightly. My contention is that the condition of the cases in the warmer weather is a big factor in the deterioration of the quality of fish handled in the market, and through the methods of packaging the fisherman is the loser financially. I admire Mr Newman’s admissions of the unhygenic methods used, but fail to see sense in his final remarks on the vitamin content in the aroma of used fish cases. Would these be the S.F. (smelly fish) vitamins? It would explain the increasing numbers of people daily watching the construction of the fly-over. Perhaps they want their share of free vitamins.—Yours, etc., R. REARDON. April 1, 1965.
