ADDINGTON TRIALS
15 Races Today
Many of the horses engaged at the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club’s Easter meeting, which opens on Saturday, will parade at trials at Addington Raceway today. A programme of 15 races has been carded by the Canterbury Trotting Owners’ and Breeders’ Association, which will provide trophies for three of the races. One race, for 2.18 class pacers, will be restricted to probationary drivers.
Garrison Royal, which has not raced this season, Lochgair and Peel will attract interest in the first heat of the free-for-all, and Queen’s Cord, Vanderford and Flying Blue are well-performed horses in the second heat. The field for the third heat includes Lordship, Professional Globe, a newcomer to A. J. Bourne’s Woolston team, Peerswick, Garcon d’Or, and Jacobite. There will be three heats of a parade for two-year-olds and three heats in the qualifying trial.
