Money Saved By Helicopter
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 29. The Auckland Electric Power Board has made substantial savings in installing overhead power lines by helicopter.
The chief engineer, Mr M. G. Keys, told the board today that the use of a helicopter on almost six miles of lines and poles had made a financial saving of 8.80 per cent and a labour saving of 45 per cent.
The installations were in rugged country in the Cleve-don-Ness Valley area and on Waiheke Island.
