Figures For 11 Months
After 11 months of the financial year, the Christchurch Transport Board has a deficiency of £150,884. This is £3lBO more than at the same time last year, but £9766 less than had been estimated. Reviewing the latest fourweekly period, that, up to February 28, Mr E. J. Bradshaw, chairman of the finance committee, told the board yesterday that revenue had dropped by .7 per cent, but was greater than estimated. Operating expenses decreased by .4 per cent, or £207, and were £1626 less than estimated.
There was a working loss of £l6l for the four weeks, compared with a surplus of £9 last year. Current standing charges decreased by £1266. Standing charges for old loans remained the same as last year at £3OB.
