A few tobacconists and other sellers have displayed notices: “Definitely no orders taken for Mammoth Kiwi tickets,” but most still give preference to their regular customers for the ordinary 5s lottery tickets. Allocations are based on the sales of ordinary lottery tickets, and some sellers have found they have taken too many orders. When the last big lottery opened there were some sellers in queues to buy tickets to fill their own orders.
