Inquiries At Methven
After the J. McCloy Memorial Handicap at Methven on Saturday, L. M. Keenan, the driver of Fox Able, and M. A. Watson, the driver of Happy Sam. were questioned about the breaking of Happy Sara.
It was decided to fine Keenan £lO for careless driving. An inquiry was held into the racing manners of Stella Globe after the Lauriston Handicap. It was decided to declare her ineligible to start at a totalisator meeting for two months.
Killin, driven by K. D. Murray, got a leg out of a hobble at the start of her division of the Highbank Handicap and took no part in the race. R. P. Nyhan, the driver of Bright Enterprise, was tipped from his sulky after locking wheels with another sulky. C. S. Donald, the driver of Lusty Lad in the same race, was tipped from the sulky, receiving slight bruising.
After the Spaxton Handicap. D. C. Watts, the driver of Martinique, J. D. Geddes, the driver of Dryden Smoke, and M. Holmes, the driver of Epona, were questioned regarding the breaking of Epona at the furlong post. After hearing the three drivers and from the observations of the stipendiary stewards, it was decided to take no action.
