Trawler Put On Beach
(N.Z. Press Association) GISBORNE, Mar. 28. When the trawler Star Sea sprang a leak off Cape Runaway on Saturday, her skipper. Mr J. Phear. put her on a beach and the crew jumped ashore. The Sea Star was carrying members of a group making tuna fishing investigations along the east coast.
When the Sea Star began to make water a distress call was sent out. The Sea Star, a 45ft trawler, was built in Napier and cost £lO,OOO.
