ST. ALBANS WINS
Rain Prevents Senior Play Heavy rain which ruled out any play in the senior cricket competition on Saturday presented St. Albans with the senior championship for 1964-65. Last week, none of the leading teams had gained first-innings points so that each team received two points for a draw.
Final points are:—St. Albans 89, West-University and Old Boys 83, Sydenham 79, Riccarton 70, Lancaster Park 52, Old Collegians 23, EastShirley 19. The promotion-relegation match between East-Shirley •nd Technical Old Boys also was cancelled, so East-Shirley will remain in the senior grade. The competition rules say that the challenging teams must win outright. It was an unfortunate ending to one of the most interesting championships for some seasons. The four leading teams all had chances to win the championship and, as all the teams needed an outright win to be in a posiItion to take the title.
