Effort Lost In Hauling Water
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Mar. 26. t Countless millions of "women hours” were spent by Asian women in hauling water for domestic use, said Lady Eileen Powles, vicepresident of the Pan Pacific and South-east Asia Women’s Association, today. Calling for more piped water to Asian villages, Lady Powles told the E.C.A.F.E. conference it would go far to raise standards of living.
