COLLISION DEATHS

Two Women Named (N.Z. Press Association) OAMARU, Feb. 28. The two women who lost their lives in a collision between their small car and a sheep truck at Pukeuri, six miles north of Oamaru, on Friday, were:— Elaine Violet Quartermain, aged 21, of 28 Martin road, Fairfield, Dunedin, and Lorna Dell Quin, aged 29, of Masterton. Miss Quin was from the Christchurch Training College. The driver of the truck was Lindsay Blair Tweedie, of Waikaia, who was not injured. The truck received very slight damage. According to the police it was the thirtieth accident at the bend in the last nine years, but the first fatal one in that period. ’
