Notes May Be From Stolen Pay-roll

AUCKLAND, February 21

Police believe that several £5 notes handed in to an Auckland hank on Friday could be part of the pay-roll stolen from the Waterfront Industry Commission in 195(5.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police (Mr A. G. Quin) said investigations would be made into the possibility of (he notes being part of the pay-roll.

'Hie manager of the Stale Fire Insurance Office (Mr A. XV. Pidgeon) said last night that the question of a reward for the recovery of the missing money would have to be reconsidered.

About £14,000 of the stolen pay-roll has not been recovered.
