FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A depression to the south-east of the South Island is moving away and a complex frontal system is moving across New Zealand. Forecast: Canterbury.—Moderate south-westerlies near the coast, variable winds inland; partly cloudy weather, with a few isolated showers this morning; cooler. Nelson and Marlborough.—Fresh southwesterlies in Nelson and the Kaikoura coast; elsewhere fresh north-westerlies, slowly decreasing; Weather clearing this morning; temperatures cooler. Buller and Westland.—Fresh south-westerlies; cloudy and cool, with occasional showers. Outlook: Some showers west of the ranges, fine in the east. CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
