N.S.W. Win Shield
(N.Z. Press Assn.-—Copyright) PERTH, February 16. New South Wales today won the Australian interstate Sheffield Shield cricket competition when it beat Western Australia outright. The match was the last of the 1964-65 season and lifted New South Wales to the top of the shield table with 34 points. Victoria finished second with 32 points, ahead of South Australia, which had won the shield in the previous two seasons.
Scores: New South Wales 302/9 declared and 156/5 (D. Walters not out 34, T. Gee 38), Western Australia 184 and 273. Sunday Play For Yuile B. W. Yuile, the New Zealand spin bowler, who holds strong beliefs about playing sport on Sundays, is still willing to play on Sundays in the tests against India and Pakistan if he is chosen for those matches. When he was chosen for the tour of South Africa in 1961. Yuile said then that he did not wish to play Sunday cricket and this request was observed by the selectors. However, in South Africa only one match was played on a Sunday, whereas in India and Pakistan all of the matches will Include a Sunday.
