Pay Increases For Storemen

Adult storemen and packers receive increases in minimum rates of from 8s 9d a week to 9s Bd, and those up to the age of 21 increases of 3s lOd to 6s 8d in the new award issued by the Arbitration Court for the New Zealand Storemen and Packers' Union.

Casual workers receive an increase of 2}d an hour if they are adults, and a new clause makes additional provisions for part-time workers. Three weeks’ annual holiday, instead of two, is provided for workers on the completion of 10 or more years' continuous service with the same employer. The pay increases are back dated to Januaiy 22; other provisions came into force on February 11, and the award continues in force until July 21, 1966.
