AIRCRAFT GROUNDED
Engineers Seek 6s (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, Feb. 16. A new Qantas Boeing cargo-passenger jet stood idle at Sydney airport today because of a union dispute. The jet, which arrived from the United States yesterday, must be certified by licensed aircraft engineers before it can . be allowed to fly In Australia. The Licensed Aircraft Engineers’ Association has refused to issue the certificate until Qantas agrees to pay a 6s “endorsement fee." The secretary of the association, Mr. D. Coleman, said today engineers required special training to certify the jet and they felt this justified a 6s a week addition to regular payment. He said he believed a complaint had been lodged with the Arbitration Court.
