r rHE tremendous power ■ that the American professional golfer Jack Nicklaus brings to his game is vividly illustrated in this analysis of his recordequallirig third round of 66 in the British Open Golf championship on the Old Course at St Andrews. Some examples are his drive through the green at the 359 yd ninth, his use of

a wood and a No. 5 iron to reach the green at the 560 yd fourteenth and his drive to the edge of the green at the 381 yd eighteenth. Nicklaus had seven birdies and a one-over in the round. He finished second in the championship, five strokes behind his fellow American, Tony Lerna.
