WORK AT OTAKI

Harvest Moon Goes Well (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Harvest Moon worked well enough at Otakl yesterday to suggest that she will carry her Wairarapa form over to the Pahiatua Cup. Galloping was on the course proper and the plough. Both were fast.

On the plough Harvest Moon started near the mile and came from the six- furlongs in Imin 17 2-ssec. She picked up Travlstream at the four and came from there in 40 4-ssec.

The week-end racing does not appear to have made any mark on Harvest Moon and, in fact, she looks susceptible to further improvement. Stablemate Trial By Jury has a strained ligament and will not race again this season. Another stablemate, the Wellington Guineas winner, His Grace, is being spelled. He struck himself In the Awapunl Stakes and it Is not known yet when he will be ready to race again. No entry was made for him for the Wellington summer meeting. The filly, Hyfort, which impressively graduated from maidens last week, was brilliant over half a mile in 49 l-ssec. Not only was the time good, but Hyfort was galloping strongly and easily. She has a hard assignment this week against Prince Hagen, Narbada, and Shut.

Full Strength completed two rounds with three furlongs in 39sec. Lady York finished easy work with three furlongs in 42sec.

Anntic worked six furlongs strongly in Imin ISisec, coming from the half-mile with Fright in 49 2-ssec. On holiday showings both would have good chances of being in the money this week.

On the course proper On Display was going well alongside San Lenardo after three furlongs in 42 l-ssec. Rushing appeared to be doing better than So Gay though they finished together after half a mile in 51*sec.

Purserette, a surprise winner at Stratford, has been left with the Hawera trainer, B. Hart, for the forthcoming Taranaki circuit. She gave K. Tinsley his first training success. He took out a licence last September to look after S. McGreal’s team when McGreal went to Australia.

M. N. Seal, who has been private trainer for Mr A. Clouston for 10 months, is setting up again at Otakl as a public trainer.
