Too Much Talent

Among the major problems of the New Zealand cricket selectors this season, is likely to be the selection of the wicket-keeper. With the remarkable success of R. Schofield for Central Districts against Wellington, the fine performance of B. D. Milburn for Otago against Canterbury, Wellington unable to part T. G. McMahon and A. E. Dick, and other former New Zealand representatives, E. C. Petrie and J. T. Ward, also in good form, the possible eventual selection at present seems most obscure.

Dick, who last held this key post, is also probably the best batsman of those available, but Ward, who toured with Dick in South' Africa, returned to his very best at Dunedin. But Milburn, who is just 21, was neat and efficient in everything he did and Schofield if he can continue as he began will provide quite intense competition.
