AUCKLAND, Jan. 5.

The thirty-eight millionth vehicle crossed the Auckland Harbour bridge early this morning. One million vehicles have passed over the bridge in the last 36 days. This is the shortest period of time taken for a million vehicles to cross.

The traffic volume for the New Year holiday period increased by 13.6 per cent, compared with the same period last year.
