LANDING ON MOON

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, Jan. 3. Sir Bernard Lovell, director of Britain’s Jodrell Bank radio observatory, has forecast that in 1965 man will land instruments on the moon and will stage a manned rendezvous in space.

Sir Bernard Lovell said he was surprised the Soviet Union had not succeeded in landing instruments on the moon in 1964.

“But it would be quite wrong to believe that the lack of spectacular Russian successes this year indicates any change in their manned lunar programme,” he added. '
